Julius van de Sande Bakhuijsen (1835-1925)

A painter from a renowned family of artists, who specialized in marine paintings, landscapes and still lifes.

Julius was the son of the well-known Hague School landscape painter Hendrik van de Sande Bakhuijsen. Julius worked mainly in Drenthe. The work that you are being offered as a reproduction is a typical Drenthe scene from the time when Drenthe was a deserted peat moor with a few farmhouses here and there.
