Cees Bruijnes

Ede, Torenstraat with a view of the Oude Kerk around 1950

The artist Cees Bruijnes has left us a document that has no equal. Anyone who visits the urbanized village of Ede and wants to discover the true character of the place has to look long and hard or use their imagination to see how it looked almost sixty years ago. The publisher also knows this place extremely well and still has a photo and a vivid memory of the barn on the left of the painting.
